About Microgreens

What are microgreens?

Microgreens are young vegetable greens, harvested just after the first leaves have developed. They're known for their nutritional density and are used to enhance the flavor, texture, and appearance of dishes.

How can microgreens benefit me?

Microgreens are packed with nutrients, often containing higher vitamin, mineral, and antioxidant levels than the same quantity of mature greens. Including them in your diet can boost your intake of essential nutrients, support healthy digestion, and may contribute to chronic disease prevention.

Are your microgreens organic?

Yes, all our microgreens are grown using organic practices, ensuring you receive the highest quality, pesticide-free produce.

Providing the highest quality, cleanest product is always our top priority. We use a top of the line water filtration system from Berkey to ensure our Microgreens are incredibly pure and only getting what nature intended while growing.

How do I use microgreens?

Microgreens can be used in a variety of ways to add nutrition and flavor to meals. Use them as a garnish on soups, salads, and pizzas; blend them into smoothies; or incorporate them into sandwiches and wraps for a fresh, nutritious kick.

There are so many options! Where do I start?

We highly suggest starting with one of our Sampler Packs! Each one comes with four of our top variants that will allow you to see which tastes and textures are your favorite.

Our Sunny Sampler Pack lets you explore some of our top varieties including clover, broccoli, pea, and sunflower.

If you like adding a little heat to your dishes, you can explore our Spicy Sampler Pack. This pack has four different varieties that each come with a little kick, including our red rambo radish, wasabi, sunflower, and clover.

What do they taste like?

Each variant has a different flavor, from sweet to spicy to earthy and robust. As you begin to incorporate Microgreens in your lifestyle give yourself time to get used to the flavor. Soon enough your body will be begging for them.

What is the shelf life of your microgreens after purchase?

Our microgreens have a shelf life of 10-12 days. To extend their freshness, store them in an airtight container in the fridge. If they're nearing the end of their shelf life, you can freeze them for later use in smoothies.

Are there any tips for maximizing my yield of my microgreens?

Placing your microgreen tray in a space that has access to light and a decent airflow will help your Microgreens grow to their maximum potential.

When and how should I water my microgreens?

Water your microgreens once a day by bottom watering. Add just enough water to the bottom tray to allow the roots to absorb moisture without being submerged. Watering at the same time daily helps maintain a routine that benefits plant growth.

How much light does it need?

After germination, place your microgreens in a location with at least 3-4 hours of sunlight daily. This ensures they receive sufficient light for healthy growth after their initial dark period.

Whats the best temperature for growing microgreens?

The optimal temperature for growing microgreens is between 62°F and 72°F. This range supports most microgreen varieties for effective germination and growth.

How long does it take from planting to harvest?

After planting, allow seeds to germinate in the dark for 2-3 days. Your microgreens should be ready to harvest within 3-5 days after they start sprouting.

Where should I cut the microgreens for harvesting?

Use the harvesting shears from your kit to snip the microgreens at the base of their stems, near the soil, when they are 2-6 inches tall for the best results.

Can harvested microgreens grow back?

No, once harvested, microgreens do not regrow. You will need to start a new batch with fresh soil and seeds for each harvest cycle.
